Wesley (Wes) J. Terhune is the COO and Co-Founder of Spartan General Contractors. After years of being an Army Brat, Wes followed in his father’s military footsteps and joined the US Navy in November 1980. He was assigned duty aboard the USS Enterprise (CVN65) in January 1981 where he served as a Yeoman for 4 years reaching the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class.
When Wes left the Navy, he went to work for a Real Estate Development and Construction company in Fort Smith, AR specializing in skilled care nursing facilities development and construction across the Southeastern United States. During this employment, Wes met Jason Parker in 2006 in Northeast Tennessee when he hired Jason as Construction Superintendent. Wes retired from the construction company after 35 years and pursued the long discussed opportunity of joining forces with Jason to start their own construction and real estate development company.
Wes met his wife, Susan, at a Piggly-Wiggly grocery store in 1980 in Waldron, AR. They got married in 1982 and have been married for 38 years. They have 3 beautiful daughters together, Amanda Hughes, Megan Davis, and Chanlee Waters. Their daughters brought them 3 son-in-laws, Dustin Hughes, Tony Davis, and Derek Waters. Wes and Susan are better known as Poppy and Mee Mee to their 8 grandchildren Breella, Olivia, Aria, and Daxtin Hughes, Annabelle, Evelyn, and Scarlett Davis, and Liam Waters.
When Wes isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially when he cooks them all dinner every Sunday evening. While his children have grown, and are no longer playing sports, he now enjoys watching his grandchildren play the sports his girls grew up playing. He has a love for the outdoors and working in his yard. He is also a HUGE fan of NASCAR, but an even bigger fan of the #4 car. GO KEVIN HARVICK! He is grateful for the opportunities that have come before him and looking forward to the ones ahead.
